  1. This coming weekend is the Chinese Grand Prix. Last year it was won by the Ferrari of Michael Schumacher, with the Renaults of Alonso and Fisichella, coming in second and third.

With only a week in between, it's always difficult for the teams. McLaren are going to have to fly out a new chassis for Alonso after his accident in Fuji, and I'm sure the other teams are all just as busy.

    Predictions for China?

  2. Its a tough call I reckon. Well, Raikkonen, Alonso and Hamilton will take end up on the podium, and I would mark Hamilton for first place. If Alonso gets his shit together he is going to put up a massive fight for the championship this weekend. Raikkonen is going to be up there too, also fighting, but somehow I don't think he's going to do any better than 3rd. Its that or Alonso is gonna take Hamilton or Raikkonen or both out of the race by doing something stupid.

Practice and qualifying are going to be very interesting if you ask me.

  3. Practice 1 & 2 are over and all is as expected with the McLarens and Ferraris trading places at the front. After practice 2 it's Kimi followed by Alonso, then Massa and Hamilton. But there's nothing in it. Just under 2 tenths covers the first 4.

The weather forecast gives thunderstorms for both Saturday and Sunday. Another wet race?

  5. So it turned out wet, and with Hamilton farming near the pit lane entrance. Apparently, Bridgestone told McLaren to bring him in, but they ignored it:

'Although nobody at the tyre company would comment on the matter, it is understood that the Bridgestone engineers told McLaren to abandon their gamble of keeping Hamilton going with wearing tyres to avoid having to make an extra pit stop for fuel later in the race,' reports The Guardian. 'At the time Raikkonen, in second place, was slicing several seconds a lap off Hamilton's lead.'

I guess it was a gamble, but Hamilton could've pretty much wrapped up the championship even coming second. Well, had he come second and Alonso third, there would be 9 points between them.
