Now that Alonso has proven himself to be the wingeing ,whining, cry baby everyone has suspected him of being by saying that he cannot race with Hamilton next year, does anyone think Renault will do better next year with Alonso there?

Good luck to Ralfie getting a drive next year.

  2. Everyone seems to hate Alonso so much, I feel sorry for the poor guy. Hamilton, IMO, is not the squeaky clean glory boy everyone is making him out to be. Nor do I see a place for Alonso at Ferrari, they've no reason to drop Massa and I can't see them dropping Kimi. Also, I really can't see Alonso and Kimi racing in the same team: that'll just end in tears. So where would Alonso go? BMW? I guess that's a possibility, but if I were BMW I would be looking at Webber or Sutil.

As for Ralf, I'm sure he could find a drive for a lower end team, which seems to be what he wants:

"I joined Toyota with high expectations,” he said. “On the one hand, I regarded it as a major and exciting challenge to be involved in the development of a new racing car. On the other hand, I also learned to like the Japanese style of living, during my long stay in Japan before entering Formula One. And I still get on well with the Japanese mentality. But I am waiting for years for a competitive car."

He added: "Toyota also was a nice and interesting experience - particularly the cooperation with the team, engineers and mechanics. Still, it’s time now to look for a new challenge."

Concerning his future plans, Schumacher commented: “I'm going to have several conversations in the coming weeks. I will announce my decision when the season is over. For me, the financial aspect is far less important than the chance of being involved in the development of a car and being successful afterwards."

  3. IMO Hamilton is just as much a race driver as anyone and as a result he is not squeaky clean. Alonso has shown his true colours this year, he is being beaten by a rookie and he cant stand that he is not getting special treatment. I would like to see Alonso on the BMW team, would be a good boost to the team I reckon.

  4. Considering that most of the drivers are younger than 30, one should compare similar aged drivers when thinking about their whining. Money, power and fame get to the best of people but taking into account a race like Fuji, when every single one of them were driving under dangerous conditions, it takes something to keep on going (I know I hate driving in the wet at normal speeds)! That said, here's my opinion about the mentioned drivers:

Ralf: Disappointingly wearing the "younger brother in the wake of my brother" on his sleave - face it, he's just not got it in him!

Alonso: (personally I don't like him) Won the championship while Michael was still around - not something to forget

Hamilton: Probably has it slightly easier than Alonso did since aforementioned Michael is not around. Has so far done a great job, although some humility might not be a bad thing.

    Massa: Should NOT leave Ferrari!

Yes, It's true that I have an intense disliking for Alonso, however, I had Renault as my number two team after Ferrari until the Monaco GP where Michael Schumacher got accused of cheating. The whole episode left a bad taste in my mouth simply because it was so badly handled. Never had time for Alonso or Renault since then.
Tina is right though, Massa should NOT leave Ferrari and the day Alonso climbs into a Ferrari F1 car is the day I will probably bid my farewells to F1. Maybe Alonso will be humbled this year and start acting like a man instead of a child ,he could win back some respect.

It looks like Alonso is going to Renault next this year.

Berlin, Germany - Fernando Alonso will leave McLare and return to Renault for the 2008 Formula 1 season, German newspaper Bild has reported.

Alonso has signed a contract for three years from 2008 with Renault where he won his two World championships before moving to McLaren in 2007.

However, in last few months, Alonso's relations have deteriorated badly with the McLaren team of Ron Dennis and in particular with British team mate Lewis Hamilton.

Alonso was second in Sunday's Chinese GP and is now only four points behind championship leader Hamilton heading into the final race of the season in Brazil. - AFP

So hopefully McLaren will see to it that Alonso does not win on Sunday >:). I'm sure they don't want to give the No 1 back to Renault.

  7. Renault, though, have denied the report.

Which doesn't make it untrue, of course.

He has been rather whiny recently with all the "they don't treat me equally" crap. The FIA is sending someone to oversee the equality at McLaren in Brazil. What? That's right, they're going to make sure that Hamilton and Alonso get the same size coffee cups.

ha ha ha, Massa has just signed up with Ferrari until 2010, the world is a beautiful place.

  9. You're way to happy about that.

Wait, I'm way to happy about that. Massa is a World Champion waiting for a time and place to happen. And there's no better place to wait than at Ferrari.

It is this wisdom and great knowledge that makes you the race director, we are not worthy.

  11. I too would love to see Massa take a championship. Im very interested to see how next years teams look, anyone know when official announcements will be made?

  12. Alonso's future is still undecided, and it seems it will remains so until mid-November. There are apparently rumors that he may go the BMW for a season with the hope of going to Ferrari when Kimi's contract is up in 2009. I'm not so sure about the Ferrari thing. I just can't see it happening. And I'm not sure how I would feel about him going to BMW. I think Heidfeld is doing a perfectly good job there, and Kubica is a great driver too.

  13. Ron Dennis will only agree to release Fernando Alonso from his 2008 contract if the Spaniard switches to a privateer rival next year, according to reports.

  14. So Alonso is leaving McLaren. Where do you think he will end up? Probably Williams, I would guess, and Frank will probably be quite pleased to have him. I still don't see Ferrari picking him up when Kimi's contract expires in 2009.

Edit: Seems that he is free to go to any team, so maybe Renault is an option.

  15. Jerez, Spain - Fernando Alonso's potential return to Renault gathered momentum on Wednesday when Giancarlo Fisichella seemed prepared to switch to a rival team.

The Renault driver - who partnered the two-time world champion Alonso for two years - stated his interest in joining Force India after testing for the rookie team at the Circuit de Jerez.

The 34-year-old Italian driver isn't guaranteed his seat at Renault with team boss Flavio Briatore already saying that he would make a driver change for the 2008 season, with Heiki Kovalainen's place also uncertain.
