  1. Lewis Hamilton is under investigation for his alleged part in Mark Webber’s and Sebastian Vettel’s collision under safety car conditions that ended the race for both drivers.

Apparently erratic driving from Hamilton behind the safety car contributed to the collision that occurred behind him.

  2. Hmm. Just what's needed to give this year's championship a new lease of life. If Hamilton's points are taken away (unlikely), or even if he takes a 10 place drop (more likely), there's hope for Kimi and Alonso. Down to the wire, I say. That's what makes F1 exciting. Make them work for it.

  3. Well it seems that Hamilton will find out today whether he will be punished for the incident between Vettel and Webber. Looks like it was Toro Rosso boss Tost who alerted the FIA to Hamilton's maneuvers:

Scuderia Toro Rosso team principal contacted the race stewards after seeing a Youtube video of the incident that saw STR's Sebastian Vettel ram into Mark Webber.

And if you look at the position of Hamilton's car carefully in this video you have to wonder what Hamilton's car was doing so far back. I mean he was essentially alongside Webber after Webber had already been hit and spun. Seems like Vettel really had no place to go, both sides of the track were occupied. Just saying...

EDIT: Here's a (really low quality) screen grab from that video. You can see Hamilton is still alongside Webber when Webber has already spun, and Vettel is a good chunk behind having driven into the back of Webber.

  5. And now he's on pole. Bernie had some interesting things to say:

"It is painfully obvious to me that the right guy to be World Champion is Lewis," he added.

"In fact my main fear would be if he didn't win it. Kimi Raikkonen barely talks to anyone and as such has done little for the sport, and as for Fernando Alonso, in his two years as World Champion he has done nothing."

Harsh words for Alonso and Kimi.
