While the Singapore race next year will technically be a night race, in that it will be held at hours that most of us would call night, it cannot be called a night race in terms of light. I mean:
Planet-F1The proposal, which includes installing about 1,500 lightning projectors, powered by 12 twin-power generators at the Singapore circuit, was handed to the FIA in Paris on 10th October.
"An overall average of about 3,000lux levels is required to illuminate the circuit, which is enough to meet High Definition Television broadcast standards," the promoters said.
"As a result, the track will be almost four times brighter than a typical stadium."
Heh, heh. Night race indeed. Still it should be awesome to watch. Can't wait.
